Samples from the book All Because of a Button (St. Johann Press, 2000) that my mom, Ellaraine Lockie, wrote. I illustrated the cover and about 100 interior pen-and-inks or gouaches.
The very first series of books I illustrated was for the Santa Clara School District in the 80s. It was an educational series for elementary school children about the orchard history of the Santa Clara valley. I made them about 20 gouaches, and the school district lost most of the originals. These are the only two I got back from them post-printing:
