TEACHING
•June 2011-present. Viola/violin/piano teacher, South Pasadena Music School and Gabriella
Charter School, Los Angeles, CA. Teach private students and group lessons to beginning through
advanced students.

• March 2011-present. Orchestra Mentor, Harmony Project. Work to bring student orchestra
programs to LAUSD elementary schools. Teach all elements of orchestral playing to children.

• February 2011. Assisted amplifier building/soldering workshop at Machine Project.

• 2004-2009 Viola Mentor for Southwest Chamber Music and American Youth Symphony
Outreach Programs. Worked with junior high and high school students in orchestra and semi-
privately at Marshall High School, Irving Middle School (both in LA), and at Walgrove Elementary
School in Venice, CA.

• 1995-2008. Private Teacher (English/Music). Worked with select students tutoring reading
comprehension, English grammar/vocabulary, writing, critical thinking with focus on SAT, TOEFFL,
general ESL. Parent reference only. With music students, I taught violin, viola and piano.

CURRENT PROJECTS
• AUDIO DESTRUCTINATORS – Performance group
• MARSHWEED – Songs by Heather Lockie, Laura Steenberge, and guest performers, including
Shawn Lockie (voice, percussion). Recent guests: Kristin Haraldsdottir (accordion), Archie Carey
(bassoon), Odeya NIni (voice).
• F-STOP SERENADE – Films by Cosmo Segurson, with live music scoring by F-Stop Serenade. I play viola.
• SINGING BY NUMBERS – ladies’ microtonal singing experimental group.
• CIRCUS LUMINIS SPHAERA – performance/installation group. I do sound design and live
performance viola/electronics.

RECENT PERFORMANCE AND PROJECTS
•  December 2011 – Performed in interactive event at Machine Project.
•  July 4, 2011 – Performed with “Porch of July” at Machine Project. Annual sing-a-long.
•  June 2011 – My composition “Duet for Mechanical Spirits and Familiars” (for three car horns and
three instruments) performed at Dogstar Experimental Music Festival, CalArts, Valencia CA.
•  May 2011 – Performed in David Smith Retrospective at Resnick Pavilion, LACMA, Los Angeles CA.
Played viola in string trio for artist Scott Benzell’s  “Concentric Circles (after David Smith)”.
•  May 2011 – Gubaidulina Festival at REDCAT Theatre, Los Angeles CA. Played viola with CalArts
Orchestra.
•  March 2011 – Solo MFA II thesis show: “Campfire Weddings and Hillside Graves” at CalArts, Valencia, CA. A multi-media story told through music, puppetry and live animation. I wrote, co-produced and performed in the event.
•  April 2010 – Solo MFA I thesis show. Works by Bach, Gubaidulina, myself, improvisations. At
CalArts, Valencia CA.
•  February 2010 – F-Stop Serenade performance at Silent Movie Theatre, Los Angeles CA
•  May 2010 – Marshweed performance for SASSAS Benefit, Pacific Palisades CA
